A windsurf board can be made of Expanded Polystyrene Foam, Epoxy, Fiberglass, PVC or Carbon Sandwich.

Wave and speed windsurfers prefer lighter boards made of Carbon Sandwich, while beginners should start with heavier and larger boards.
