If you didn’t make the drive to Zuma... you missed out! Summer is here and evident with warm water and literally all day barrels. Surf was two to three foot and glassy and the set of the day came through in the Female semi finals. The girls were all over it. Highlights of the day include the Pro Open and Drew Erichson barely edging out the smooth moves from Claudia Castello in a close 1 point seperated heat. Claudia did win the Female division, and more of the older guard was represented by Team Madrid who laid it down in the Masters with Bob Forbes taking 1st and Tom Prince 2nd. Other notables from the day include Dylan Digiacomo making the finals in three divisions AA, Youth and winning AAA. Mike Glezos won DK , Dusty Brizzolara won Mens, Ryley Colle won AA and Nick Borgens won Juniors. In the pros, Joe Grodzen barely beat Wally Sani to take Pro DK. But best of all, and everyone who sat on the sand can agree, the funniest waves of the day came from the slams in the stand up division. Joe, Alex Krist and Colton all took an old fashioned beat down and made it a total summer event. BTW in that event, Colton Overin “stood” victorious. Overall, a super fun summer day and good job to all of the competitors.
