Day 1 of the Katherine Melo Pro was a great success in Brazil. Today Brasil made history as the first heat of the Katherine Melo Bodyboarding Pro entered the water. It was officially opened as the biggest bodyboarding event ever in Brazil.
The waves were a little bit smaller than yesterday with some 3-4 feet sets. In the middle of the day the on shore wind came and made conditions a little bit tougher for the riders.
The first two rounds of the men where completed. The highlight was Brazilian rider Francirley Ferreira who scored the best wave of the day (8 points) and guaranteed himself a spot in the 3 round .
Tomorrow will start with the men’s 3rd round and then the 1st woman’s round. The heats will start this Wednesday at 9:00 AM(Brazil time)
