Four more names are already known to compete at Praia do Norte in November: Paulinho Costa, Rui Pereira, Dino Carmo e Antonio Cardoso will be present at Special Edition.
Incontestable athlete of the Portuguese panorama, Paulinho Costa won the first Special Edition, at 2003, and reached the final at 2005. Rui Pereira has been present in some IBA world circuit stages and is another name to take into consideration this edition. The local athletes Dino Carmo and Antonio Pereira are the under 18 that have already started to call the modality attention and that will also be present in a hard-fought contest at Special Edition. These four names join to the initial eleven, adding up to fifteen the national names in competition.
With five names still to be known, there is some news about the choice of the twentieth athlete in competition. . The final decision is up to the bodyboarders, which can vote until November 6th in the website www.specialedition.com.pt .
These four athletes will join to the already confirmed Luís “Porkito” Pereira, Manuel Centeno, Jaime Jesus, Fábio Laureano and Hugo Pinheiro. Gastão Entrudo, Ricardo Faustino, Luís Pereira, Ivo Mochacho, João “Magoito” André and Rui Ferreira are other names that will be present at Praia do Norte.
The formula couldn’t be more unique and special: twenty of the best national and international BB athletes are convoked to confront the famous waves of Praia do Norte, which is considered the queen wave in Nazaré and one of the most respected in the whole world. The unique size and force of these famous waves, which easily go to six meters high, is the visit card of a competition that has changed the way of looking Bodyboard. The waiting period is between November 10-29th.
