Praia do Cabedelo gets the Figueira Bodyboard European Pro Junior

Foz Mondego Bodyboard Association is proud to present the 1st Figueira Bodyboard European Pro Júnior, and we believe this contest is the beginning of major international bodyboard junior event in Figueira da Foz, Portugal.

This event is the first of its kind in Europe and aims to develop Junior Bodyboarders throughout Europe, as well as being the springboard for other countries to organize similar events. The event is a special event sanctioned by the International Bodyboarding Association and is part of a project to raise the organizational level of Júnior Bodyboarding worldwide.

Last year IBA Australia held a similar Junior series (RAW Pro Juniors) where the winners won tickets to Hawaii to compete in the Pipe event. The series was a great success and its hoped that other regions of the IBA will follow this example and maybe next year IBA can sanction the first ever IBA World Pro Junior event

For this first event the organization Foz Mondego Bodyboard Association will supply for all winners (male and female) a roundtrip to the Canary Islands to compete in the final contest of the World Tour 2010 of the Confital Bodyboard Pro, in addition to other interesting awards. The contest is only open to Europeans until 18 years of age, and event inscription is made for email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The contest begin on 2nd July at 8h30 in Praia do Cabedelo in Figueira da Foz a point break right very powerful and consistent ideal for bodyboarding.

Figueira da Foz is a city in central Portugal 1 hour from Porto (nearest airport) and two hours from Lisbon (main airport of Portugal), in the next days the ABFM will give information places to stay in Figueira da Foz, there is official hotel event.
