The EBB Pro gets set to decide Australian bodyboarding titles

EBB Pro: a true Australian classic

Yallingup in the South-West corner of WA is the location for the three day 2010 EBB Pro, which will also include the final event of the WA State Bodyboard Series. This will be the second last event of 2010 and provide one rider the stepping stone to the Australasian title which is still a very open race.

The EBB Pro is the fifth stop of the Australasian Bodyboarding Pro Tour which has thus far travelled to New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia . The event will see a bumper field of 30 professional bodyboarders from across WA, East Coast Australia and even South Africa travel to the beautiful Cape Naturaliste Area of South West WA.


With a massive 4 star rating and a total prize pool of $5,000 the EBB Pro is the pinnacle of bodyboarding events in Western Australia. After an amazing stop last weekend for the Heatworks Pro at the infamous Knights Wedge in South Australia all riders on the Australasian Rebel Sport Bodyboard Tour are hitting peak form just in time for this event!

The EBB Pro has always been a pivotal event on the Australasian Rebel Sport Bodyboard Tour with last years winner Corey McLean (QLD) going on to claim the 2009 Australasian Title. International Bodyboarding Association Australasia (IBAA) Tour Judge Danny Bycroft is excited at the prospects of such an amazing field of bodyboarders competing at one of six contest locations around the Yallingup area.

“Having an event in heavy powerful waves in the South West corner of WA will allow these amazingly talented competitors to demonstrate what explosive high performance bodyboarding is all about” Said Danny.

Running the final event of the WA State Bodyboard Series with the EBB Pro allows WA's aspiring bodyboarders to mix it with their idols from around Australia.

“This years EBB Pro has drawn some of the worlds best bodyboarders including Dave Winchester, Joe Clarke, Michael Novy and Tom Rigby from the east coast as well as local heroes Chad Jackson, Brad Hughes, Josh Garner, Alex Halsey and fresh from his win in big win in Europe Jake Stone.

With only 2 events remaining on this years tour the guys will be going for broke not only attempting to win the Australian title but also to gain a top 10 spot on the Australasian Tour and guarantee themselves entry into next years International Bodyboard Association (IBA) Pipeline Pro” Said Danny.

With picture perfect conditions forecast for the three day event organisers are hopefully that this years EBB Pro will once again showcase the awesome waves of the South-West, although the swell is looking a touch on the small side there is a variety of breaks that will surely still test some of the worlds best.

At this stage the EBB Pro will be running professional divisions on Friday and Saturday with the WA State Titles set down for Saturday and Sunday.

Top seeds have fought back to earn a ticket to Round 3 of the Oakley Pro Bali 2013, at Keramas, Indonesia.
With clean four-to-six foot (1.5 – 2 metre) waves on offer at the primary site of Keramas, Kelly Slater smashed wildcard Jack Robinson by capturing the day's high 18.17 out of a possible 20 for a masterful display of forehand tube-riding and power turns. John John Florence was surfing against his Hawaiian compatriot Sebastian Zietz, when he decided to go for a full rotation up in the sky awarded with a 10-point ride. Unbelievable Alley-Oop.

Giuseppe Zerillo and Pawel Gardasiewicz have been crowned the 2013 Raceboard Youth and Masters world champions, at Marina Julia, Monfalcone.
The final day of windsurfing races saw one more race being run, for a total of six counting for the overall results. Light wind specialists Giuseppe Zerillo and Pawel Gardasiewicz made it clear right from the start that they were in it to win it, taking bullets in every single race.

Antoine Albeau has conquered the 2013 PWA Catalunya World Cup, in Spain. The final took four hours to be completed, due to the gusty and shifty winds.
Albeau has tasted his inaugural season triumph, on the beautiful shores of Costa Brava, to halt Bjorn Dunkerbeck from claiming the title, for the first time, in three years. The King of the Box 2013 will attract more than 180 of Australia's best wave riders to the Box Beach, in Port Stephens, Australia.
The world's best bodyboarders have been visiting the Box Beach, in New South Wales, but this year the competition will be opened to surfers, too. An innovative contest structure will have a two-week waiting period to ensure the best possible conditions. The two selected windows are September 5th-8th or September 12th-15th.
