Are you ready? Yes, it's time for another world bodyboarding season and what a way to kick off hostilities. Welcome to the 2011 IBA Pipeline Pro, to be held in the Hawaiian Islands, between February 15th and 25th. The event will feature a Men, Women and Drop-Knee Grand Slam with a total prize money of US$55,000. Initially, there will be a two-day trials event, at Sandy beach, to determine the riders that will join the seeds at Pipeline. The Sandy Beach Trials will commence on the 12th February. The top 16 (Men), top 3 (Women) and top 4 (Drop-Knee) will move into the main event. The competition format will be like this: Men (112 riders + 16 trialists) 8 x 4 man heats – 2 progress x 7 rounds Women (16 riders) The round by round seeding breakdown for the Men's Grand Slam Series event will be as follows: The seeding breakdown for the Women's Grand Slam event will be as follows: Top 10 Women from the 2010 Rankings The seeding breakdown for the DK Grand Slam event will be as follows: Top 8 riders from the 2010 Rankings |
