Iain Campbell: clearing the way to a double victory

Iain Campbell has been crowned "King of the Wedge", at the 2013 Wedge Classic, held in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa.

Up to 100 riders from all South African provinces competed in eight bodyboarding divisions, at the popular Wedge Beach.

Iain Campbell, from Kwa-Zulu Natal, took out the Pro and Drop-Knee divisions to be hailed "King of the Wedge", in 2013, just like Sacha Specker did in the previous year.

"It is always amazing to be back in Plett for the Wedge. I am happy to be 'King of the Wedge' 2013 and to get the double title as Sacha did last year. The feeling is back at the Wedge, and it was awesome to see everybody from all over the country there to enjoy", Campbell told our friends at Sixty40.co.za.

Alex Nutt, 10, was one of the standouts of the 2013 Wedge Classic. He placed second in the Boys division and won "Best Move of the Contest" with a huge invert.

Tristan Roberts took the Juniors trophy after defeating Plett locals, Nik Martin and Michael Searle, and Western Province's Wilder Schultz, with some of best moves of the contest. In the Women's category, Janneke de Kock took top honors.
