The Itacoatiara Pro 2014 is ready to roll between 23rd July and 3rd August, in the Brazilian town of Niteroi.
Welcome to one of the best bodyboarding beach breaks in Brazil. This wave is not for everyone. The fast, steep and hollow wedge resembles an aquatic roller coaster. Mistakes are punished with tough wipeouts.
Six months after the APB Pipe Challenge 2014 won by Ben Player, the world circuit returns to the waters of the southern hemisphere. Itacoatiara is a box of surprises. You can get waves ranging from three to fifteen feet, in a matter of hours.

Lilly Pollard will fully recover from six compression fractures in the back and a spinal fracture to the fifth cervical vertebrae. The Australian has returned to the waves, and a maiden world title attempt has not been ruled out.
Pollard was a lucky girl. A serious injury at Mystics Beach, New South Wales, almost put an end to her bodyboarding career. Fortunately, Lilly's spinal cord was untouched, and she started a long recovery process.
"I know that other bodyboarders have not been as lucky as I have. The recovery process has been going great. I was also really conscious to not only rest but to eat the right kinds of foods for bone and muscle repair, I've also been taking supplements for joints and muscles, and then slowly easing my way back into training, stretching and exercise," reveals Pollard.

The Cave Rock Invitational 2014 will be surfed in the best possible conditions between July 14th and August 14th, in South Africa.
It is probably the only bodyboarding in the world where sponsors are not invited to participate. The Cave Rock Invitational will gather 16 riders to showcase their talent in the KwaZulu-Natal waves.
If you're still not convinced, do know that two-time world champion Andre Botha and Tristan Roberts will be out in the line-up. For many, the Cave Rock Invitational is the best bodyboarding event South Africa has had in years.
