World top bodyboarder Damian King has signed a three year deal with Turbo Bodyboards, a company from Port Macquarie, King's hometown.

In his blog, the Australian athlete says that «what has impressed me the most about Turbo, and one of the key reasons why I am excited by the change, is Turbo is an ethical brand with good morals. Even at a local level I have watched Turbo get behind our local club and show support to the younger generation and amateur competitors. I am a passionate person and this now translates into the board company I ride for. These ethics are important to me, and something I feel was lacking with my previous sponsor».

2009 IBA World Tour is finished at El Confital

Jeff Hubbard has conquered the 2009 IBA World Tour title, at El Confital Beach, Canary Islands, Spain.

The Hawaiian bodyboarder - who depended on third party scores - got over Mike Stewart in the last moments.

Dave Winchester and Guilherme Tâmega were also fighting for the world bodyboard title, but Jeff Hubbard was able to achieve the highest honour. The last stage was won by Spanish rider Diego Cabrera.

2009 IBA World Tour

Day four at Confital will go down in bodyboarding folklore.

A picture perfect day with flawless waves and the worlds best riders all pushing the boundaries of the sport to new levels.

The day started with the WWT opening rounds and the girls were challenged with some break-neck conditions coming off an early low tide.

1999 World Champion Karl Costa-Taylor (Brazil) was the rounds best scorer with some steep drops and deep tube rides.

Hot on her heels was Natasha Sardardia (PRC) and Isabella Sousa (Brazil).

All of these girls charged the reef at Confital with tons of style and not a hint of fear.
