Nick Jacobsen: he loves unusual kite jumps

Nick Jacobsen has jumped from racing yacht Azzam's 30-meter (98 feet) mast. The sailing team had just conquered the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-2015, in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing crew made the invitation. The Danish stuntman accepted the challenge and climbed up the sailboat's mast.

"I like jumping off stuff with my kite. I had never been on top of a mast like that. I don't know how it reacts out there compared to the wind," Nick Jacobsen told before reaching the top of Azzam.

"When I'm down in the boat, it's pretty steady, but as soon as you're up there it's different. I trust these guys 100 percent, so it's pretty much on my shoulders."

Immediately after reaching the tip of the mast, Jacobsen knew there was only one way, and it was down right to the water. He tried to calm himself down, and not to think about what he was about to do.

A few seconds later, Nick completed the giant leap and touched the water firmly and safely. The Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing celebrated. The Danish had completed yet another successful, crazy kite jump. "It felt really good," he stated.
