In the last days, several accidents happened with kitesurfers worlwide. There are many safety procedures to learn before getting into the water. In the Westward Ho! beach, a man has been flown to the North Devon District Hospital after being knocked unconscious during a kitesurfing competition. He was marshalling the Atmospher'09, a power kite festival held in the UK. In the Okaloosa Island, rescue workers found a capsized kite and feared that the surfer had drowned. Later, they found out that the man, Rob Corazza, had swimmed to shore after trying to bring a friend's board back. On Saturday, a Skegness lifeboat was called to help a kitesurfer that was struggling with broken equipment about 100m off the shore, south of Central Beach. Be sure to respect the kitesurfing safety procedures and always try to kitesurf with a friend. Check our video section for more kitesurfing accidents.
