Jamaica prepares to welcome the KPWT kiteboarders

Three lucky local kiteboarders will receive wild card entries for the first event of the 2010 Kiteboard Pro World Tour.

The 2010 World Tour will kick off in Jamaica’s famous Long Bay beach in Portland in March next year with the Jamaica Kiteboard World Cup (JKWC) when the world’s top kiteboarders will converge on the island’s north east coast to begin the quest for the 2010 World Pro Title.

The first of three 2009 Jamrock Tours National Kiteboard Qualifying Series (NKQS) events will be held at Barrow Wood Beach in Trelawney on Saturday 19 December 2009.

Jamaica’s top Kiteboarders will compete under the watchful eyes of international judge from Oregon USA who will decide the 3 wildcard entries to the JKWC in Long Bay Beach in Portland at the end of March.

This is a wonderful opportunity for local kiteboarders to get a shot at the “Big League” of the sport.

The Kiteboard Pro World Tour is the elite circuit of the sport and events are held around the globe and attract the best professionals. Any competitor who performs well at an event like this will get top tier publicity and exposure and thousands of fans as the event will be carried live by top Sport Television Networks around the world.

That is what it takes for an athlete to be noticed, approached and signed by potential sponsors.

All local kiteboarders are invited to enter for a chance to win one of the three prestigious available slots.
