Surin Beach and Stereolab Phuket Thailand will host the first ever international Kiteboarding Competition to be held in Phuket Thailand and under the “KTA Open Event” umbrella. Proposed as a now annual event, Surin beach will see the current Asian Champion (Thai National Narapichit Pudla “Yo”) strut his stuff against International and National opponents in both Freestyle and course racing disciplines, the event will also hold a novelty Big Air event over the 4 days. The KTA Tour 2009/2010 raised a lot of new interest in kiting in Asia both from the region and internationally, so we want to build on this and help as many events as we can to grow their profile and locations. To do this and following a few other requests from other events and locations we have decided to broaden what the KTA does and as well as the tour to also run a KTA open event, which allows for one off events, events of different styles that want to hold more than just the approved IKA competition disciplines and events that fall outside the main tour season to become part of the KTA sanctioned events programme. The event itself will also award IKA world ranking points and will be ran under the KTA/IKA Freestyle and Course Racing Rules. Registration will be on the beach or you can contact us to pre-register on our contact form Thursday 5th August 2010 Registration 9am – 5pm Friday 6th August 2010 Freestyle or Course Racing Competition Saturday 7th August 2010 Freestyle or Course Racing competition Sunday 8th August 2010 Freestyle or Course Racing & Big Air competition FINALS
