Guilly Brandão: vertical kiteboarding

The Volkswagen Kite Tour 2010 has come to an end. The Brazilian kitesurfing champions have been crowned despite a very emotional and tense competition.

In the wave contest, Guilly Brandão confirmed another victory. "Although it is my fifth title, there's always a special taste, because reaching the top is easier than keeping it", said Guilly.

In the women's division Carol shed her tears to take the highest position. "It was one of the most exciting of my battery life. I am very happy", Carol said in a very emotional moment. "I've asked my dad to help me and send this wind. I'm sure it was him," she said of Paulo Freitas, a diving world champion victim of a fatal accident when she was only two years.

Due to poor wind conditions, Freestyle kiteboarder could not hit the water to show their talented skills. Therefore, Carlos Madson, 16, and Bruna Kajyia were crowned the official champions.

In the Course racing contest, Wilson Bodete simply gave no chance to the other competitors. He took the event and the overall result. In the women's division, Nayara Licarião has done it for the third time.

"It's great to win the third championship here. It was worth the effort and dedication. Next year I hope I can repeat the result and also do well in the world circuit," said Nayara.
