The schedule of the 2011/2012 Kiteboard Tour Asia has been unveiled. The successful format will be kicking off in Malaysia, in November/December.
The new KTA season is going to see the introduction of new Championship events, as well as the Tour based competitions. The programme will take in both tried and tested countries and locations from previous tours, along with new venues wanting to be part of the KTA experience.
The championship year is is planned as follows:
Malaysia: Nov/Dec (exact dates t.b.c)
Vietnam: 11-15 Jan
Thailand: 14-19 Feb (includes the Asian Course Race Championships)
Philippines: 14-18 Mar (includes the Asian Speed Championships)
Taiwan: 11-15 Apr
Sri Lanka: May (exact dates t.b.c)
At the same time, The the 2011/2012 Kite Tour Asia shall run: Asia Freestyle Champions, Asian Course Race Champions, Asian Speed Champions, KTA Freestyle Tour Champions, KTA Course Race Champions and KTA Old Skool Project.
The final tour stop venue information and date confirmation, for each round of the KTA Asia Tour and Championship events, will be released in by the 30th October. This will provide all location, travel, Visa, dates and competition information for the country that is hosting each round.
In addition to the KTA competitions, the 2011/2012 season will feature competition training opportunities to either introduce you to this side of the sport or build on your existing skills to help improve your performance.
Nine-times world champion Kristin Boese will be returning to join the KTA with her KB4Girls camp training clinics, in February 2012. Bruno Sroka will also be returning to expand his highly regarded event course race clinics.
