Denmark has joined the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA), the governing body for world kiteboarding. Kiteboarding Denmark (KBDK) is the national association for Danish kitesurfers and will expect Danish events to be included in the planetary IKA contest list.
Kiteboarding Denmark has worked hard to establish a national kitesurf instructor training program together with the Danish sailing union, in 2011. This was a successful project and the first courses will be held in spring and summer of 2012.
Securing continued access to kitesurf spots around the Denmark is one of the main priorities of Kiteboarding Denmark. It will be done in collaboration and dialogue with the various conservation authorities and environmental associations.
