| The 2012 Kite Speed World Championships accelerate to France |

The 2012 Kite Speed World Championships will be held near Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, in the South of France, from 5th-15th July.
The qualification system is done through GPS speeds over 500 metres, achieved in the past 12 months, between the 5th June 2011 and 5th June 2012, which is the qualification deadline. Alex Caizergues and Sébastien Cattelan are two names that will surely be fighting for the world title. Four places are reserved for pre-qualified women and another four for women to qualify under the GPS speeds over 500 metres criteria. The event will have a total prizemony of 5000 Euro. The Notice of Race as well as the official registration will be published soon in the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) official website. Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône is one of the greatest speed sailing spots in the world. The French region has seen several world records being broken and ratified by the World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC). |
