The New York State Parks have forbidden all kiteboarders from training their sport in the entire recreational system. Although the network of beaches under the New York State Parks management is of public acccess, the fact is kiteboarding has been banned.
Interestingly, surfing is allowed. A petition is already being signed online in order to remove the ban on kiteboarding in the incredible natural spots for sailing in New York. New York kiteboarders are looking forward to have an official designated area in which they can enjoy wind rides and, at the same time, protect Nature and visitors. Recently, the New York State Parks have also created a smoke-free policy in all parks, historic sites, playgrounds, beaches and pools. |
