Triple-S Kiteboarding Invitational to be held in Cape Hatteras

2009 Triple-S Invitational 

The Triple-S Invitational is the international free ride "world championships" of kiteboarding, held every year in Cape Hatteras, NC.

2009 marks the 4th year of the Triple-S Invitational, scheduled for May 30th to June 5th 2009. After three extremely successful Triple-S events, this has become a highly anticipated event on the pro kiteboarding calendar.

Mark your calendars now with excellent spectating, event parties and award ceremonies open to the public, you cannot miss any of the Surf, Slicks and Sliders action. The Triple-S will feature some of the top pro riders in the world riding for their prospective kite and board manufacturers. A total of 24 athletes will be scheduled to participate in the 2009 Triple-S Invitational.

This years break down is as follows: 20 athletes will be receiving invitations, with 4 alternates in place. This year 4 spots will be allotted to wild card invitations, these will be given to the best 4 rider videos received by March 1st.

Athletes receiving invitations to compete in the Triple-S Invitational are chosen by an event management committee. All invitations are sent by November 18, 2008. RSVP is expected by January 1, 2009, at which time alternates will take the place of any athlete who has not contacted event management and committed to the event.

Wild Card selections will be made on March 15, 2009. The Triple-S management committee will make their selections taking into consideration submitted videos. Videos will be judged solely on the quality of riding. Editing and effects will not be taken into consideration.

The final list of committed athletes will be announced April 2009.

Shane Dorian has captured all the glory of a 15-foot Teahupoo wave with his surf camera mount.
We've seen Shane Dorian tasting the power of Nazaré and speaking about the wave of his life. The big wave surfer born on the July 19, 1972, in Hawaii, has published an impressive picture, directly from the Tahitian pit. The mid-May swell that hit "The End of the Road" brought huge, perfect tube rides to the French Polynesian island. Dorian was there to ride the wild beast.

Taty Frans and Kiri Thode have claimed the Slalom and Freestyle titles at the Curacao Challenge 2013, in the Netherlands Antilles.
A total of 85 windsurfers from some of the world's best sailing countries like Bonaire, Aruba and Curacao competed in front of hundreds of spectators. The 5th edition of the Curacao Challenge showcased an high level of competition mixed with a great atmosphere. The event held a Tow-In Freestyle contest, Slalom races and a SUP battle.

Nuno Azevedo has conquered the bodyboarding division of the XV Luso Galaico Championship, a competition between Portuguese and Galician riders.
Up to 64 bodyboarders and surfers from the North of Portugal and the Spanish region of Galicia have competed at Cabedelo Beach and Arda Beach, in Viana do Castelo. When surfers are out of the game, bodyboarders go for it. During the infamous mid-May swell of 2013, a group of prone riders decided to taste the real power of the Tahitian barrel.
