Wipeouts and fantastic costumes in the Kitebeasts 2008

Kitebeasts 2008 

What an amazing weekend!! Everyone got behind the spirit of the event and we saw some fantastic costumes, some amazing kiting and some spectacular wipeouts.

Well done and thank you to all 12 teams who competed with such enthusiasm and team spirit. Thanks also to our hosts Searles Leisure Resort who were absolutely amazing from beginning to end and to organisers Hunstanton Sailing Club and The Borough Council - you were brilliant!

Of course, the event would not have been possible without the support of our fantastic sponsors - a huge thank you goes out to Hunters Land Rover King's Lynn (AWESOME vehicles), Searles Sea Tours (the DUKW rocked!), Kite Kit (prizes), Turbulence (prizes), JN (prizes), SignTech (signs!) and Mansells (sign boards).

Teri Kite Surf Pro ready with 35.000 AU$ prizemoney

Teri Kite Surf Pro 

The 8th Edition of the Teri Kite Surf Pro 2008 will take place from the 1st to 9th November 2008 on the fabulous competition site of the Pointe Magnin, Nouméa New Caledonia (22°.18”S 166°26”E), organize by the LVLNC (Kitesurf league) and withstand by the local institutions.

This year the Teri Kite Surf Pro 2008 is an International competition open to riders from all around the world with all the organization found on international tour, it will also prepare the entry of the event into the PKRA 2009 competition calendar, therefore a mostly PKRA judges an race director team will be there at work along with PKRA ‘s president; Mauricio Toscano invited as a guest by the organisation.

A spot recognize by many competitors over the world as one of the best … just imagine white sand beach, Alizea blowing a continuous and warm 15 / 20 kts wind, emerald lagoon gently warmed at 26c° by a tropical summer sun…

Sebastien Cattelan and Charlotte Consorti are the PKRA Speed World Champions

PKRA Speed 2008

After the final leg of the 2008 PKRA Speed Tour, Sebastien Cattelan stays on top of Alex Caizergues and Chritophe Prin-Guenon (all France). The womens world title goes to Charlotte Consorti, FRA, ahead of Sjoukje Bredenkamp, RSA, and Katja Roose, NED.

Caizergues started the season with a victory in his hometown Port St. Louis, but was beaten in Fuerteventura not only by Sebastien Cattelan but also by hotshot Rob Douglas from the USA. This, and the higher ranked Fuerteventura event, costs him too many points to stay on top. Cattelan was winning in Fuerteventura, and his his third place on the final leg in Luderitz he closely snatched victory ahed of Alex. Christophe Prin-Guenon, with three 4. places constantly in the top riders, secured third place.

Charlotte Consorti was dominating the season in Port St. Louis and Fuerteventura and became second in Luderitz, leaving her the world championship title ahead of Sjoukje Bredenkamp, winning the Luderitz Speed Challenge. Katja Roose with constant podium places in third.

The Topspeed Ranking is dominated by the Luderitz Speed Challenge contenders, with Alex Caizergues world outright record time of 50.57 knots in first, Rob Douglas (50.54) in second, and Sebastien Cattelan (50.52) in third.

Top seeds have fought back to earn a ticket to Round 3 of the Oakley Pro Bali 2013, at Keramas, Indonesia.
With clean four-to-six foot (1.5 – 2 metre) waves on offer at the primary site of Keramas, Kelly Slater smashed wildcard Jack Robinson by capturing the day's high 18.17 out of a possible 20 for a masterful display of forehand tube-riding and power turns. John John Florence scored one of the biggest airs ever seen in competitive surfing, during the Oakley Pro Bali 2013, at Keramas, Indonesia.
John John Florence was surfing against his Hawaiian compatriot Sebastian Zietz, when he decided to go for a full rotation up in the sky awarded with a 10-point ride. Unbelievable Alley-Oop.

Giuseppe Zerillo and Pawel Gardasiewicz have been crowned the 2013 Raceboard Youth and Masters world champions, at Marina Julia, Monfalcone.
The final day of windsurfing races saw one more race being run, for a total of six counting for the overall results. Light wind specialists Giuseppe Zerillo and Pawel Gardasiewicz made it clear right from the start that they were in it to win it, taking bullets in every single race.

Antoine Albeau has conquered the 2013 PWA Catalunya World Cup, in Spain. The final took four hours to be completed, due to the gusty and shifty winds.
Albeau has tasted his inaugural season triumph, on the beautiful shores of Costa Brava, to halt Bjorn Dunkerbeck from claiming the title, for the first time, in three years. The French sailor demonstrated his perfectly timed starts time and time again, along with a phenomenal top speed to blow the competition out of the water.

The King of the Box 2013 will attract more than 180 of Australia's best wave riders to the Box Beach, in Port Stephens, Australia.
The world's best bodyboarders have been visiting the Box Beach, in New South Wales, but this year the competition will be opened to surfers, too. An innovative contest structure will have a two-week waiting period to ensure the best possible conditions. The two selected windows are September 5th-8th or September 12th-15th.
