A kitesurfer from Bedfordshire has died after hitting rocks due to strong winds.
The accident has occurred on the Lancing seaside, West Sussex, England.
A doctor tried to aid the 49-year-old man at the scene and he was then transported by air to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

l’Hydroptère, the French foiling trimaran became the fastest yacht on the planet yesterday, setting a new record for the 500 metre mark of 51.36 knots, thus beating the previous record set by kitesurfer Alex Caizergues who held the previous record of 50.57kts set in Namibia last year.
Alain Thébault and his crew also set new records for the 1000 metres lifting this mark from 43.09kts to 48.72 kts.
The records were established at Hyères (and are subject to the ratification of the WSSRC). A westerly wind of 28 kts was blowing for the records.
During the run Alain Thébault and his crew hit 55,5 kts (103 km/h) and a set a mean velocity of 51.36 kts.

The renowned PKRA KiteExtreme Brazil Freestyle event dates have being moved, from October 14 - 18 to November 11 – 15th (formerly Mexico’s dates).
The exact location will be determined between Luis Correia in the state of Piaui, and Taiba in the state of Ceara, on September 12th.
Also Brazil has already confirmed the 2010 PKRA racing and freestyle events will be held together in Barra Do Cunhaú- RN, Brazil; The amazing location of the 2009 PKRA Kiteracing Brazil event, which took place two weeks ago. The local Government has expressed their commitment to host a bigger better event and have signed up for 2010.
On the down side of the news, due to the extremely difficult situation this year with the worlds economic, the PKRA Freestyle Mexico Event has being cancelled. The organizers were not able to get the necessary support to bring the event forward.
