Virgin Kitesurfing Armada: 500 kites ready to ride

The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada aims to get over 500 GPS-tracked kitesurfers to ride together on a downwinder between Hayling Island and Pagham, in the UK.

Sir Richard Branson is putting out a kitesurfing festival using a wind window format that will get green light on either 13th-14th September, 27th-28th September or 11th-12th October, 2014.

After breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest parade of kitesurfers (318) ever, the Virgin boss sets the bar higher, as 500 riders will sail 15 miles down the coast.

Luderitz Speed Challenge: chasing Caizergues

The organization behind the Luderitz Speed Challenge promises improvements in the sailing channel for the 2014 edition.

The preparation for the Luderitz Speed Challenge 2014 is on. This year, a maximum of 20 riders per week will be allowed to fight for personal, national and world records.

Kiteboarders and windsurfers will see a new speed strip, with improvements made based on relevant feedback from competitors. The goal is to record faster speeds in less wind power.

Joey Pasquali: breaking records on a hydrofoil kite

Joey Pasquali has sailed to victory at the 2014 Ronstan Bay Challenge, held at the St. Francis Yacht Club.

The long distance race attracted kiteboarders and windsurfers, but those riding hydrofoil kite systems managed to finish first. Incredibly, the fastest eight sailors were on hydrofoil kites.

Pasquali was the only rider finishing in less than one hour. He took 54 minutes and 54 seconds to steal the 2014 Ronstan Bay Challenge Long Distance Race.
