The event held by the trio - Sean, Kelly and Stephen - is supporting the World Skin Cancer Foundation and it was great opportunity to get in touch with the "modern" old school surfing players.
The 2010 Slater Brothers Invitational was attended by 36 shortboarders and 24 longboarders. Kelly Slater showed his best tricks in the "Expression Session", which lasted 45 minutes.
In the longboard competition, Justin Quintal got over Sean Bowman, "Skippy" Slater and Steve McLean to reconquer his title. Quintal is looking for sponsors in order to run the world surfing competitions. Hundreds of fans watched in the beach how Holland beat Bryan Hewiston and Cam Anderson.
"It's not so much about the winning, it's just so much a great event," Holland said.
This is a very special competition, as Kelly and his brothers raise funds and awareness for prevention of skin cancer, an issue every surfer should take in consideration while spending hours in the peak.
"Thanks a lot for coming out and supporting this event and for all the support you've given me through the years," Slater told everyone at Cocoa Beach. "Next week is a big week and I'll try to bring it home. And then we'll have a nice, quiet party at Coconuts."
