Davis enjoyed a great season, after achieving a new women's production speed record, in Namibia, and by becoming the ISWC European champion, for the second time.
Zara also won the Weymouth Speed Week for a record 6th time, as well as the Women's British GPS 2011 ladder.
"I was absolutely thrilled to have been nominated in the first place but to win against such a well known line up is fantastic and tops a great year for me. I would like to thank all the people who voted for me", said Zara Davis.
The British Speed Queen was up against some tough competition, with Ben Proffitt (Wave), Ant Baker (Slalom), Adam Sims (Freestyle) and Kieran Martin (Racing) also nominated. Zara won by a clear margin over her rivals and joins a long line of previous winners, including Bryony Shaw and Nick Dempsey. Olympic medal winners.
Britain will be celebrating great moments in windsurfing with the upcoming 2012 London Olympic Games. Weymouth will be the home for international sailing.
