Lady Gaga: style and grace in the surf

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, best known as Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, actress and philanthropist born on the 28th March, 1986, in New York City.

Gaga began to perform early, and at 19 years old she started pursuing her musical career. By that time she also founded the band SGBand, which garnered local attention in the downtown Lower East Side club scene.

The stage name Lady Gaga was created during her work period with talent scout Rob Fusari, and is based on the Queen song "Radio Ga Ga".

In 2007, she started working as a songwriter for Interscope Records, where she wrote for artists like Britney Spears, Fergie or The Pussicat Dolls.

Her breakthrough came in 2008 with her first album, "The Fame". Her following records and singles are some of the best-selling in the world.

She was distinguished with several awards, namely five Grammy awards and 13 MTV Video Music Awards.

Her eccentric looks were switched by a rash guard in 2011, when she was seen taking surfing lessons in Mexico.
