The United States Military Surf Team has defeated the British Army Surf Team in the first international edition of the Red Bull Rivals Surf Competition, in Del Mar Beach, Camp Pendleton, California.
The American armed forced secured the golden bullets in the Men and Women divisions, while Her Majesty's Armed Forces prevailed in the bodyboarding battle.
Although they were playing in foreign waters, the British Army Surf Team spent two weeks training in Californian waters. The competition was really tight, with both teams giving everything they had to the game.
San Clemente pro surfer Kolohe Andino got to the contest beach to see if military surfers could eventually turn pro. The Californian charger saw a healthy spirit of competition, respect and friendly rivalry out in the water.
Emerging from the water victorious, the American military surf team stood opposite the British Army team as the Brits picked up the prize-custom surfboards and handed them over to the Americans.
The United States Military Surf Team was led by Master Gunnery Sgt. Jay Michael Auwae, while British Army Surf Team was commanded by Capt. Joe Robinson.
