Windytv: surf forecasting app is now available for iOS smartphones

Windytv announced the launch of its iOS weather app.

The surf forecaster headquartered in the Czech Republic launched a lightning-fast (only 24 MB) smartphone app that will allow you to check the swell and wind conditions for any surf spot on the planet in real-time.

Windytv's interactive world map can be triggered with some of the most relevant tools: swell height and direction, swell period, wind waves, wind gusts, wind speed and direction, rain and snow, clouds, temperature, and humidity.

The six-day surf forecast is available in both NEMS (NOAA Environmental Modeling System) and ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) models.

The new iOS app is aimed at surfers, bodyboarders, windsurfers, and kiteboarders who wish to assess maritime conditions quickly, and it also provides live footage from webcams located in the area.

According to the developers, Windytv's Android app has already been downloaded over 500,000 times. The digital surf forecasting project was created by Ivo Lukacovic.
