Wavegarden has released the first photo of "The Cove," the second generation of man-made wave technology.

The artificial wave company headquartered in the Basque Country published a picture of what will be the new wave produced by Wavegarden.

According to the developers, the new generation surf facility is capable of producing 1,000 ocean-like waves per hour, i.e., 16.6 waves per minute, or nearly one wave every four seconds.

Wavegarden plans to build and debut "The Cove" in their Urbnsurf projects scheduled for Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. The baseball diamond-shaped surf pool will create an A-frame peak delivering right and left-hand barrels.

The Wavegarden 2.0 surf lagoons will see the light of day between 2018 and 2019. The surf park firm says that the concept around "The Cove" aims to generate "fun waves for smaller spaces."
