Billabong Pro Santa Catarina competition has been called off for the day, but with a projected increase in swell over the coming days, the world's best surfers could hit the water as soon as tomorrow. Event No. 3 of 10 on the 2010 ASP World Tour, the Billabong Pro Santa Catarina plays a vital role in the current battle for the prestigious ASP World Title as well as the requalification campaigns of the world's best surfers. "There's a big southerly wind change projected for the next few hours and it will deteriorate the current conditions rapidly," Richie Porta, ASP Head Judge, said. "We're expecting the swell to jack over the coming days with improved conditions so we'll be back tomorrow morning to assess things." Event organizers will reconvene tomorrow morning at 7am for a possible 8am start. The waiting period for the Billabong Pro Santa Catarina will on Friday, April 23 and run through May 2, 2010. The Billabong Pro Santa Catarina will be web LIVE via www.aspworldtour.com/santacatarina
