A special swell is arriving just in time for the 50th anniversary of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, in Australia. Epic surfing conditions are predicted and the world's top surfers are ready to take on the prestigious event.
The offshore groundswell is building and there will be plenty of perfect waves until the end of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach.
When the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach presented by Ford Ranger kicks off, up first will be Adrian Buchan, 28, Alejo Muniz, 21, and Raoni Monteiro, 28, in Heat 1 of Round 1.
When the Rip Curl Women’s Pro Bells Beach presented by Ford Fiesta kicks off, up first will be Chelsea Hedges, 27, Sofia Mulanovich, 27, and Rebecca Woods , 26, in Heat 1 of Round 1.
Super stylish, super powerful and capable of huge results at Bells Beach, Victoria’s Adam Robertson won a high scoring final of the trials to secure his 6th wildcard into the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach.
Adam is the highest placed Victorian ever in this iconic event having finished second, two years ago. In today’s trials final Robertson defeated close friend and fellow world professional surfer travelling partner Nic Muscroft in a high scoring affair.
Late in the final Robertson sealed the win with an excellent 8.75 ride to comprehensively win and take the one Victorian wildcard into the main event.
He will face 10 time world champion, defending event champion, current world champion and current world number 1 surfer Kelly Slater in the opening round.
