The sixth annual Slater Brothers Invitational is going to pump Cocoa Beach, Florida, from October 28th-30th. More than a pure surfing competition, this is a very important event to raise money for the World Skin Cancer Foundation.
The Slater Brothers Charity Golf Scrambler opened the 2011 charity fundraising with up to 170 players turning up for the cause. The surf competition will feature shortboard and longboard contests with 65 surfers.
Pro surfer CJ Hobgood has been confirmed in the Slater Brothers Invitational 2011. Kelly Slater might show up, although he is focused in the upcoming Rip Curl Pro Search San Francisco, in which he can confirm his 11th world surfing title.
There will more than just surfing. Everyone is invited for a 7h30am beach run, an invitational volleyball tournament, a skateboard competition and a stand-up paddleboard demonstration. Free skin cancer screenings will also be available.
The surfin and skateboarding finals will be contested on the 30th October. On Friday night, Donavon Frankenreiter will be playing a concert, at Coconuts. The $25 ticket entrances will benefit the World Skin Cancer Foundation.
