The Boardroom International Surfboard Show has named the best boards in five different categories, from sustainable models to concept planks.
A distinguished panel of experts decided the five category winners. A large area of the show floor was set-aside for the crowd to view the "Best of Show entries". The judges were in awe of the many creative and inspiring surfboards entered and they truly appreciated the expertise and effort that all the manufacturers put into this years' competition. The Best Sustainable Surfboard went to a Mini-Simmons, shaped by Brad Tucker and Jack Young with recycled broken surfboards. The Best Longboard award was given to the 1963 white owl big wave board by Marc Andreini. It's his interpretation of the original white owl gun built by Brian Bradley and Jeff White in Summerland, California. The Best Wooden Surfboard was shaped by Gary Linden to ride 35-foot waves. This 9'8'' gun was already tested in Todos Santos. The Best Shortboard was won by Hydroflex. One of the most technologically advanced surfboards on the market. |
