Surf Expo: the world of surfing is here

Surfing trade shows, fairs and expos are the best places to find the future of extreme sports and wave riding. From USA to Tokyo, there are great surf expos for manufacturers, retailers and consumers.


The future of surfboards, fins, leashes, wax, wetsuits, harnesses, sails, kites, surf cameras, surf watches, traction pads, surf apparel and general surf gear are always showcased in surf trade shows, before hitting the marker.

In many cases, these action sports expos gather several outdoor activities, such as surfing, kiteboarding, windsurfing, bodyboarding, wakeboarding, skimboarding, skimming, skateboarding, skiing, yachting, swimming, etc.

The latest products of the surf industry are featured in large fairs that may be open to the general public or closed to professionals. Catalogs and brochures are freely available and live demos and clinics take place.

Surf Expo is the largest trade show of the surf industry and it takes place, in Orlando, Florida, since 1976. Up to 12000 attendees, including retailers, exhibitors and media show up at Surf Expo, a professionals only fair.

The Boardroom, held in Del Mar, is aimed at surfboard shapers, laminators, sanders, foam chemists, fin gurus, ding kings and CAD designers. Discover the latest trends in surfboard shaping, find classic, vintage sticks and learn how to shape a surfboard.

The Action Expo takes place in Northfield, USA. The trade event brings together manufacturers, retailers, marketeers and young action sport fans. With over 300 exhibiting brands and 600 retail buyers, it's the largest surf expo of the Northeast USA.

Boot Düsseldorf is one of the most important water sports trade show in Europe. The German fair attracts more than 1500 exhibitors, from 60 countries. Windsurfers, wakeboarders and skimboarders have special corners for their gear and goods.

The National Windsurfing Festival, at Hayling Island, UK, offers a large exhibition opportunity for the growing windsurf industry. More than 30 brands - from retailers to manufacturers - get the chance to showcase their latest products and innovations.

The Beach & Boat, in the German city of Leipzig, targets the water sports market and it is the ideal presentation platform for vendors. Expect loads of surfing, kitesurfing and wakeboarding equipment.

Agenda Tokyo, in the heart of Japan, is one of the most relevant action sports expos in Asia. Many world surf industry brands present their products to retailers, wholesalers, distributors, importers, exporters and enthusiasts.

ABF Expo (Germany), Extreme Sport Expo (Australia), Boat Brno (Czech Republic), Nauticampo (Portugal), Adventure & Extreme Expo (Bulgaria), Austin Boat Show (USA) and the London Boat Show (UK) also deserve a visit from all boardsports enthusiasts.

Delphine Cousin is shining a light in the 2013 French Windsurfing Championship, with a victory in the second stage, held in Brest.
Despite the difficult conditions - three days of disoriented and gusty winds - sailors were able to complete two races. The organization worked hard to try to get more races, but even if the windsurfing fleet had spent many hours on the water every day, nothing could be done.

Nuno Azevedo has conquered the bodyboarding division of the XV Luso Galaico Championship, a competition between Portuguese and Galician riders.
