The Surfing for Hope Cancer Benefit 2013 will be held between September 20th-21st, in Pismo Beach, California, with a longboard contest and a dinner.
"I believe strongly in the Surfing for Hope mission. Everyone has been touched by cancer in some way. If we can help bring awareness about the disease to just one person, we have succeeded in our goal", says Tom Brown, executive director of the Surfing for Life Foundation. All participants will have the opportunity to buy Surfing for Life wristbands. Proceeds from the sale will be donated directly to the Hearst Cancer Resource Center. The weekend-long event begins with a memorial sunset paddle out in Avila Beach to remember those who have lost their battle to cancer. This will be followed by a benefit dinner, auction and live music at the beautiful Avila Beach Golf Resort. Saturday kicks off with the longboard contest and day-long health fair on the Pismo Beach pier. |
