Joel Parkinson: Perfect Tenner

Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson and Michel Bourez. The Semifinalists of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast 2013 have been defined, at Snapper Rocks.


Parkinson posted the first Perfect 10 of the event by adding unmatched style, power and versatility to the clean three-to-four foot (1.5 metre) waves on offer.

"That was an amazing heat to be in. Julian is one of the most exciting surfers in world. Even with a 10, you're never safe with him", revealed Joel Parkinson, who will face Michel Bourez in the opening Semifinal of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast 2013.

Kelly Slater posted an excellent 18.03 out of a possible 20 point, in a momentum-building display against Bede Durbidge and will face Mick Fanning.

"Mick and I have a lot of history together. We both put our competitive heads on during events and he has a lot of experience out here. The home town crowd will be backing him big time and that's always fun. Should be a good heat", express the 41-year old Floridian.

Fanning took a win over compatriot Matt Wilkinson. "Wilko has really been on point this event and has been amazing on his backhand. He’s a friend. The waves were pretty fun and I was able to loosen up later in the heat after putting some scores on the board".

Shane Dorian has captured all the glory of a 15-foot Teahupoo wave with his surf camera mount.
We've seen Shane Dorian tasting the power of Nazaré and speaking about the wave of his life. The big wave surfer born on the July 19, 1972, in Hawaii, has published an impressive picture, directly from the Tahitian pit. The mid-May swell that hit "The End of the Road" brought huge, perfect tube rides to the French Polynesian island. Dorian was there to ride the wild beast.

Lemondo Entertainment has announced the release of its newest game, "Kite Surfer", an arcade kitesurfing game designed for both iPhone and iPad. "Kite Surfer" is an endless running game, in which players take control of a character by swiping on the display or tilting a mobile device.

Taty Frans and Kiri Thode have claimed the Slalom and Freestyle titles at the Curacao Challenge 2013, in the Netherlands Antilles.
A total of 85 windsurfers from some of the world's best sailing countries like Bonaire, Aruba and Curacao competed in front of hundreds of spectators. The 5th edition of the Curacao Challenge showcased an high level of competition mixed with a great atmosphere. The event held a Tow-In Freestyle contest, Slalom races and a SUP battle.

Nuno Azevedo has conquered the bodyboarding division of the XV Luso Galaico Championship, a competition between Portuguese and Galician riders.
Up to 64 bodyboarders and surfers from the North of Portugal and the Spanish region of Galicia have competed at Cabedelo Beach and Arda Beach, in Viana do Castelo.
