Wakeboarding: jumping for glory

The final stop of the Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup Series is hitting Palembang, in Indonesia.

The competition governed by the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) will have five world champions on site battling for the titles and the World Cup cash prize.

Wakeboard, Waterski Jump and Slalom are the events scheduled for contest. The excellent flat water conditions, 32C temperatures and wonderful festival atmosphere will produce very impressive performances from both the waterskiers and wakeboard riders.

Raph Derome: wake charger

Raph Derome has been named Alliance's 2012 Rider Of The Year. The wakeboarder born in Coteau-Du-Lac, Quebec, has been shredding in the world's best wake spots.


Derome started wakeboarding at 9, when his brother, 7 years his senior, introduced him to it. In a few months, Raph was already going for inverts and full rotations.

By 19, he had already claimed a Jr. Pro Men Tour stop, a Jr. Pro Wake Games Championship, a Wake the Line Title and was named the Transworld Rail Rider of the Year in 2010 and Wakeworld Rider of the Year in 2011.

Andrew Fortenberry: a new Obscura life

Andrew Fortenberry has joined the Obscura Wakeskates team. The rider from Anna Maria Island, in Florida, is currently living in Lake Pickett.


Andrew Fortenberry finished the Wakeskate Tour 2012 in the top 15 places and is looking forward to traveling and entering as many events as possible.

"So pumped to be a part of such a sick team and company! I've looked up to Aaron and Danny since day one. Stoked to see what the future holds", said Fortenberry.
