The 2008 Techno 293 Championships, held in Civitavecchia, near Rome, have finished. The brits put in a good performance and ended with podium placings in both the 7.8 and 6.8 divisions for boys. Sam Sills maintained his form and, despite an illness just before the start of official racing, claimed a silver medal in the under 17 (7.8) fleet. In the 6.8 (under 15) division Kieran Martin had his first taste of international success by claiming third spot and bronze medal. The 6.8 boys did exceptionally well, with 3 more racers in the top 12 - Stuart Hards (6th), Joe Bennett (9th) and Jack Plummer (12th). Source: UKWA |
