The Pro Center Chris Schill at the beautiful island of Karpathos in Greece prepares for five days of spectacular action.
The creme de la creme of Speed Windsurfing has arrived to battle for the 2009 world championship title of the International Speed Windsurfing Class.
The likes of defending World Champion Antoine Albeau (FRA) as well as last years winners Bjorn Dunkerbeck (SUI, Starboard, Severne) and Valerie Ghibaudo (FRA, Loft Sails) are already training in app. 40 knots of wind and get used to the course.
The Greek Open Championship, which ended yesterday, produced already speeds of more than 42 knots, so there is hope to beat last years spot set by Antoine Albeau with more than 43 knots.
You can follow the event live here at www.speedworldcup.com with a live webcast, and get daily reports and pictures from our media team.
First skippersmeeting is set tomorrow for 8:00 with a first possible start at 9:00 to make use of the strong wind forecast for tomorrow.
