After the successful first stop of the South American Wave Tour in Peru, it was the time for Ibiraquera, Brazil, to host the second leg of the event. NeilPryde took the top 3 spots. With close to 30 wave sailors from Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil, the event started off with strong port tack side shore winds and small waves for the Single Elimination, most sailors were on 4.0 and 4.5. Kauli Seadi blazed through his heats to make it to the final together with Levi Lenz who impressed all the judges. On the final, Kauli ripped the small waves apart and with a combination of backloops, pushloops, clew first backloop and forwards he deservedly took the first place while Levi Lenz who also shredded some nice waves and had some good jumps finished second, followed by Konan Lang in third. The next day, a very strong cold front came through which meant a double elimination on starboard tack with an increasing swell. At the beginning, most sailors were out on 3.3 to 4.0, it was hauling. Kauli Seadi had previous travel plans and unfortunately couldn’t stay for the double, leaving the spot open for first place. Wilhelm Schurmann, who had lost on the early rounds of the single elimination, advanced 6 heats to make it against Levi Lens who was waiting in second place. Wilhelm managed to get some solid waves and good jumps to edge out Levi, with this, he took the event title, second was Kauli Seadi and third Levi Lenz, all on NeilPryde sails. The third and last stop of the South American Wave Tour will be in Matanzas, Chile, from the 29th of October to the 1st of November.
