With 63 competitors from Europe and the Americas, the second leg of the Formula Windsurfing Grand Prix, held in Sopot Poland from June 4th-7th was regarded by all as "a great success". Generally, racers found themselves confronted with light winds and a steep chop for close racing held in front of the Sopot Pier. Debuting in its 2nd event this season, womens winner, AUS 911- Allision Shreeve showcased the proposed Formula One Design concept. The new class is being proposed as an alternate to the hybrid RSX class for the 2012 Olympics. Source: Formula Windsurfing Class |
