The 2011 Formula Experience World Championships is underway, in La Amada, Cancun, Mexico. The first day of competition offered 10-to-14 knot winds. The first two races were conquered by the Brazilian Fernando Souza.
He really showed that being a grand master does not matter to have good performance. Interestingly, the FW Worlds now have sailors from Junior to Grand Master divisions, in the top five places.
A total of four races has now been completed and the first discard comes into play. Fernando Souza's lead has been challenged by the young windsurfer Mauricio Martinez, from Mexico, who is now on equal points with the first day's second place.
On day two, he won a race 2011 Formula Experience Worlds taking place at Marina La Amada, Quintana Roo.
Nicolas Schreier, from Peru, was the winner of race three, but has been knocked down to third place. Nevertheless, he is just one point behind on the leaderboard. In fourth place is the Junior sailor Ignacio Berenguer, but there is already a gap of 7 points between him and the top three.
