Windsurfing: perform better when you're over 40 | Photo: NeilPryde

The oblique muscles are important for spine health and core stability and strength. Health promoter and windsurfer Henrik Beyer shows us an effective exercise for over 40 windsurfers.

Age-related loss of muscle mass, strength and functionality is natural part of the ageing process and it's commonly called "sarcopenia".

"Sarcopenia" generally appears after 30 or 40 years of age depending on gender and other known and unknown factors. Research shows that physical inactivity is a contributing factor to "sarcopenia".

Francisco Birkner: nice haircut

Francisco Birkner and Linli Wu were the fastest windsurfers at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games, held in China.

The Techno 293 windsurfing class showed its full potential in light easterly winds, as the competitions comes to a close in tactical mode.

Francisco Saubidet Birkner, from Argentina, overthrew Maxim Tokarev to claim the Boy's Techno 293 gold medal in the final duel. Both sailors jostled for position throughout the decisive race with the places going to and fro.

Dale Cook: massive jump followed by an incredible bailout

Dale Cook has pulled a massive windsurfing jump, followed by an incredible bailout at the Hatchery, on the Columbia River Gorge.

The conditions were epic. With wind gusting at 45 miles per hour (72.4 kilometers per hour) and the river flowing at 342,000 cubic feet per second, all windsurfers were having fun.

The swell allowed for wave sailing tricks, but Dale Cook was more into windsurfing jumps. And it happened when it had to happen. Cook found a ramp and got airborne.
