Rebel Sport Pro Tour

The International Bodyboarding Association Australasia (IBAA) has solidified the future of bodyboarding within Australia today, inking a massive deal with Rebel Sport.

Swimming strongly against the current of the worlds financial crisis the six figure, multi year sponsorship with the major sporting goods store will ensure the sport continues to flourish.

IBAA General Manager, Terry McKenna sees the sponsorship as a testament to the marketability of bodyboarding and paints a bright future for the sport.

"This is an exciting partnership with Rebel Sport," McKenna said.

 The sponsorship includes the naming of the Australasian Pro Tour, naming of the bodyboarding national titles, a Rebel Sport Pro bodyboarding event, a RAW pro junior series in the summer plus an exclusive IBAA/Rebel Sport merchandising arrangement.

"This is the biggest single sponsorship that the sport has signed and will ensure that the future of bodyboarding is in safe hands."

The Rebel Sport Pro Tour will draw approximately two thousand competitors, competing on the Australasian professional circuit for points and prize money all in a bid to be the annual tour champion, the most prestigious accolade in Australasian bodyboarding. 

Attracting some of the worlds biggest bodyboarding names, including the likes of Dave Winchester (2008) and Andrew Lester (2007), The Rebel Sport Tour will be at the summit of professional bodyboarding.

The Rebel Sports Pro Tour commences Friday the 20th of March 2009 at Duranbah Beach in Queensland.

Thirty Formula GPS kiteboarders battled it out on the mountains of the Alto Sangro, Italy, for the second leg of 2018 IKA Snowkite World Cup.
