Jeff Hubbard: frequent flyer

Jeff Hubbard won the North American leg of the inaugural Free Surf Bodyboarding World Tour.

The Hawaiian bodyboarder collected 40.5 percent of all votes and comfortably took the North American title. Jorge Collomer, from Puerto Rico, took the silver medal with 23.6 percent of the votes while Jacob Romero tasted bronze with 11.8 percent.

"I am so happy to be part of this amazing new concept and to take out the first ever North American Free Surf event is a massive bonus," expressed Hubbard.

"I really hope this concept continues to build momentum and excite bodyboarders around the world. Thanks everyone for the votes. It was pretty awesome. Can't wait for some more events because everyone is ripping."

The Free Surf Bodyboarding World Tour is a global competition in which riders submit their best footage, and fans vote in the best videos. There are six regional contests; the winner of each region will compete for the world title at the end of the season.

Finn McGill and Vahine Fierro claimed the 2017 World Surf League (WSL) World Junior Championship at Bombo Beach, New South Wales, Australia.
