Nick Gornall: a 720 air reverse in tow-out mode

Nick Gornall landed a near-perfect 720 air reverse, in tow-out mode.

Is it the first ever 720 air reverse, or is it a perfect 540? The controversy has taken over the bodyboarding community. Nick Gornall says he pulled it. What's your opinion?

Some say that tow-outs don't count, some say it is technically a 540 landed backwards. The truth is that the move is quite impressive, even if pulled with the helping hand of Bryce Thurston's jet ski.

"720. It's taken some time; the sections and timing don't come around too often. Special thanks to Tyge Landa for always pushing me, and Bryce Thurston for the perfect tow," said Gornall.

In 2013 - and 28 years after Tony Hawk's first ever 720 in skateboarding - Jake Stone landed what is considered the first 720 air in competitive bodyboarding.

All in all, Nick Gornall proves there's plenty of room for evolution. The art of flying high in bodyboarding is apparently still in its early days.
