It's on. The 2015 APB World Bodyboarding Tour is finally underway.

The first event of the season is the Itacoatiara Pro. The Brazilian event kicked off with solid two-to-2.5 meter (6-8 feet) waves and multiple strong currents. A tricky challenge for all riders, indeed.

After the initial exchanges, the competition entered Round 3 with Matias Dias, from Chile, confirming a total heat score of 15.25 points. However, six-time world champion Guilherme Tâmega would improve that performance.

The Brazilian veteran secured a total of 17.00 points, which included the first Perfect 10 of the contest for a barrel-to-air reverse. The second perfect wave went to Yoshua Toledo, who also advanced to Round 4.

Portugal's young gun Miguel Adão pulled off a big air forward to win his heat. Sasha Damjanic also advanced in a tight clash against other Latin American riders.

Kalani Lattanzi and Francirley Ferreira also advanced to Round 4.

The International Surfing Association (ISA) submitted a declaration of intent to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for the inclusion of adaptive surfing on the 2024 Summer Paralympics program.
