Kyle Ward: double victory at Mandurah Wedge | Photo: Woolacott/Surfing WA

Kyle Ward won both the Good Earth WA Pro and the first stop on the 2017 SunSmart WA Bodyboard Titles, at Mandurah Wedge, in Western Australia.

The talent from Joondalup proved to be unbeatable in the unusually small wave conditions on offer. The former 2015 State champion managed to find a last-minute gem, and steal the first event of the ABA Tour season from Lachlan Cramsie.

"It's crazy. I don't think it's really sunk in yet. I'm so stoked, and I can't believe it really," expressed Kyle Ward.

But the man was on fire. He wanted more, and in the first final of SunSmart WA Bodyboard State Titles, Ward built his score and defeated Kyle Eastcott, Blake Gerrard, and Lee Wilson.

"To win both events is really special and I don't think that it's been done before so I'm pumped. Thanks to everyone who supports me and made this possible."

The next stop on the 2017 ABA Tour is the Inverted DBah Pro, while the second stop of the SunSmart WA Bodyboard Titles gets underway in Margaret River. The winners will represent Western Australia in the Australian Bodyboard Titles.
