2009 Sopelana BBK Pro

The Sopelana BBK Pro is finally underway after organizers decided to postpone the opening day due to no swell. Overnight a fresh change pushed wave heights up to around a meter but light onshore winds are making conditions a bit mushy.

The Men's first round is currently underway, and that will be followed but R1 of the Women and we will finish the day with R2 of the Men. Jessica Becker (Brazil) is just one of the International riders here in Sopelana.

"Its been a long wait for the contests after Brazil" said Jessica. "I am looking forward to the European leg and getting back into the action"

The swell is forecast to get even bigger over the weekend with the weather expected to clear so the next few days is looking good.
