Soldiers Beach Pro: flipside views

The outlook for the Soldiers Beach Pro and NSW State R1 is looking good. Surf forecaster for Swellnet and Fluidzone Craig Brokensha has filled the following forecast.

The current outlook for the start of the competition is promising. We should see a mix of small E/NE swell and larger levels of short-range S'ly swell building to at least 2-3ft during the afternoon on Monday and holding in the 3ft range all day Tuesday.

Conditions look to be OK on Monday with moderate W/SW winds, but dicey on Tuesday with SW winds tending SE during the day.

A stronger pulse of S'ly groundswell is likely to fill in on Wednesday morning maintaining 3ft to possibly 4ft waves across Soldiers beach.

Winds may improve and tend back to the W/NW ahead of NE sea breezes on Wednesday. Beyond this an easing trend is likely into Thursday with a possible new pulse of S'ly swell for Friday, but i'll update the outlook tomorrow.

A perfect big wave can change your life. Not only it will put you under the media spotlight, but it will also open new sponsorship opportunities, and invitations to elite contests.
